Welcome to our new traditional Teddy Bear Kits page, we have just a few kits available at the moment but more will be added in time.

Each kit includes a piece of traditional mohair, together with matching paw pad material, shoe button eyes and nose threads. They come complete with patterns and full instructions, with diagrams for the trickier bits.

We can also supply you with the other items you'll need to complete your own home made teddy bear; needles, you'll need some longer doll maker's needles for putting the eyes in and we use longish (size 18) darners for sewing the nose, sewing thread and stronger button thread to match the colour of the mohair, plus stuffing material usually polyester and pellets, and the joints. I don't include these items as you may have them already and it would just put the cost up unnecessarily, but we have them all here, just ask, I can supply joints, threads, stuffing materials, needles and scissors which can easily be included with your kit.

Since taking over Norbeary fabrics in 2007 we are now able to supply the mohair to make up the kits. If you would prefer another type of mohair to be included with the kit that's no problem just let us know and we'll tell you how much the kit will cost. Makepeace Heirloom Complete Teddy Bear Kit, 10.5"/28cm tall, £40 plus £6.50 p&p within the UK

The Makepeace Heirloom Teddy Bear is an ideal starting point into bear making, he's a cuddly, little traditional bear with a sweet face.
The kit includes nearly everything you need to make a traditional teddy bear; the pattern and instructions, mohair, eyes, nose thread, paw material, joints, polyester stuffing and pellets, an embroidery needle and a doll maker's needle and button thread, you just need sharp scissors and the time and enthusiasm to make him. It makes an ideal present or a great starting point for making a traditional teddy bear, like all our traditional bear kits he can be machine or hand sewn and is something you can do sitting watching the TV, or on a boring train journey, just about anywhere where you can sit down in the warm and dry, even on a hot, palm fringed beach with the waves lapping at your feet.

DJ, 10"/25cm tall, £30 plus p&p

DJ's a sweet, little bear with bags of personality he looks good in a variety of different mohairs from the short and sparse to the fairly long and fluffy.

The DJ kit includes the mohair, pad material, a pair of 8mm boot button eyes and nose thread, plus the instructions and full sized pattern.

Little Digby Teddy Bear Kit, 11"/28cm tall, £30 plus p&p

The Little Digby kit includes the mohair, pad material, a pair of 8mm boot button eyes and nose thread, plus the instructions and full sized pattern.

Fosdyke Traditional Teddy Bear Kit, 13"/33cm tall, £30 plus p&p

Fosdyke's a good, solid, traditional teddy bear, he has a long snout and a small hump on his shoulders like one of the early bears from the 1900s, As you can see Fosdyke has a very appealing character and a friendly face.

The Fosdyke kit includes a quarter metre of sparse, tousled mohair, pad material, a pair of 9.5mm boot button eyes and nose thread, plus the instructions and full sized pattern.

Kingsley Traditional Teddy Bear Kit, 13"/33cm tall, £35 plus p&p

Kingsley is another solid traditional bear, he's a little chunkier than Fosdyke, making him a bit more cuddly.

The Kingsely kit includes the dense distressed mohair, pad material, a pair of 9.5mm boot button eyes and nose thread, plus the instructions and full sized pattern.

Frederick Teddy Bear Kit, 15"/38cm tall, £55 plus p&p

Frederick is a very sweet bear, he always seems to look a little sad and in need of a good cuddle.

The Frederick kit includes the mohair, pad material, a pair of 10mm boot button eyes and nose thread, plus the instructions and full sized pattern.
